Interesting... I talk to LLMs frequently but rarely use Claude. Maybe I can put something together for this bc these tools can *obviously* be utilized for self-growth. You've got my wheels turning, I'll ponder this and try to get something out by the end of next week 😊
Are there specific aspects of self-pursuit you'd be interested in exploring?
I wouldn’t have named it, but this pursuit was the common denominator among all others for me, for about the last 30 years now - and it kept turning into fulfilling work. I think it often does. I like your pieces. Glad you’re writing.
Yes, yes, yes — this is why I’ve been slow-walking everything lately. Self‑pursuit is the energy economy behind real business growth. But damn, it takes discipline to keep the noise turned down.
So well put. And love the idea to use chat for journaling. I have books filled with thoughts over the years. Would be so interesting to have outside perspective on patterns. Thanks for writing.
Ok dumb question but I feel I’ve reached the point of asking. How does one use Chat GPT?
For example, I was a junior in college when our campus connected the internet everywhere and I’d heard everyone talking about this internet thing. I went to library to ask the attendant, if he could help me “get on the internet.” He said sure, took me to a computer, opened Netscape (there was no Internet Explorer yet) and said “there you go” and walked away. I said thank you, sat down, stared at the screen and said “now what?” I felt the same way when I heard people talking about Bluetooth connections. I was confused when coffee shops had “wi-fi here” stickers on their windows. What was this Bluetooth and Wi-fi. Slow learner? Naive? Probably yes to both.
But if someone would kindly tell me where I go to find chat GPT or how to use it I would be thankful. (I’m the guy who is not afraid to ask for directions,) time is precious.
Hi, I use the AI at duckduckgo.com, just click on the AI button at the top right. As a starter you could ask it how best to use AI, lol. I asked it this very question and the answer it gave me was as follows:
'To make the most of this AI, consider the following tips:
1. **Ask Clear Questions**: The more specific your question, the better the response. For example, instead of asking "Tell me about history," you could ask "What were the main causes of World War I?"
2. **Explore Various Topics**: You can inquire about a wide range of subjects, including science, technology, history, language, and more. Feel free to ask for explanations, summaries, or comparisons.
3. **Request How-Tos or Guides**: If you need help with a task or process, ask for step-by-step instructions. For example, "How do I bake a cake?" or "What are the steps to create a budget?"
4. **Seek Recommendations**: Whether it's books, movies, or travel destinations, you can ask for suggestions based on your interests.
5. **Engage in Conversations**: You can have casual conversations or ask for advice on various topics, including personal development, study tips, or career guidance.
6. **Stay Informed**: If you're looking for recent news or updates on specific topics, feel free to ask about current events or trends.
7. **Use Follow-Up Questions**: If you need more information or clarification on a topic, don't hesitate to ask follow-up questions.
Feel free to start with any question or topic you're interested in!'
By the way, I use it on my phone and used to voice facility on the keyboard to just dictate my questions, hope this helps! 👍🙂
Thanks. I had not opened my DuckDuckGo in a while and just opened it and saw the AI feature. I’m going to check it out. Also met my brother’s neighbor yesterday who is an IT major at the local university and chatted him up about AI so got a few other tips to check out.
If you have any tips re: using Claude for self-pursuit would love to get them. Thanks for this one!!!
